ABOUT US
Partners for Stronger Communities (PFSC), a Bristol, Virginia-based nonprofit organization, began serving the surrounding communities in 1973. Founded as the Bristol Crisis Center, it was one of the first crisis centers to serve the state of Virginia, and addressed a wide range of community issues such as substance use, family issues, and mental health struggles.
In keeping with the original mission of service to vulnerable and marginalized residents in our community, PFSC has adapted to meet the changing needs of the region. PFSC serves survivors of domestic, dating, and sexual violence, as well as addressing issues of poverty and homelessness in the region. Through community education and support programs, we are working to reimagine systems that disproportionately impact members of marginalized groups and to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity. We do this through support services, education, and resources that encourage local residents to thrive. By reflecting on the work we do and the specific needs of our service area, PFSC serves as a dynamic organization that can continually improve our offerings to the NETN/SWVA region.
